MEChA, which stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicana/o de Aztlán, is a student organization focused on promoting higher education, cultural awareness, and social justice within the Chicano/a community. Founded in 1969, it has grown to include chapters at universities, community colleges, and high schools across the nation. MEChA emphasizes the importance of both education and activism in achieving self-determination and empowerment for Chicano/a students.
