Every hour you spend helping others makes a difference—and now it’s time to be recognized for it. InnerView’s national, regional and issue-based volunteer awards honor high school and college students who dedicate their time and talents to meaningful service. These recognitions are supported by community leaders, socially responsible businesses, and national nonprofit organizations that want to celebrate young people making an impact through community service and civic engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a community service award?

InnerView's award programs are based on the service activities you add to your InnerView profile. You can log in or create your account at my.InnerView.org and enter details from your past service any time! There’s no separate application, no recommendation letters, and no essays required. As you log your service, you’ll automatically be considered for awards. You can track your progress on the Awards tab in your InnerView account.

What is the deadline to earn a National Community Service Award?

Our National Community Service Awards program is annual and recognizes service impact for the current school year. The 2025-26 Awards recognize service completed between June 1, 2025 and April 15, 2026. All service must be entered in your InnerView account by midnight on April 15, 2026 to help you qualify for recognition.

What are the benefits of earning a student service award?

Receiving a community service award helps you stand out when applying for college, scholarships, jobs, or internships by showcasing your long-term commitment to helping others. These awards highlight your leadership, initiative, and impact, and are prominently displayed on your InnerView Service Resume. Digital award certificates are added to your account after the award period ends in mid-April, and high school students also receive a physical award packet sent directly to their school.

How much does it cost to earn a student service award through InnerView?

All of InnerView’s student service awards are completely free for high school and college students. Unlike other programs that charge fees for certificates, medals, or shipping, InnerView provides community service recognition at no cost—thanks to the generous support of our Champions of Change partners. There are no application fees or hidden charges for students or schools.

I just found out about InnerView—can I earn an award for service I did in the past?

You’re welcome to enter your past service into InnerView to build a full picture of your impact on your Service Resume. However, InnerView’s award programs are based on service completed and logged within each award year (June 1 - April 15). Once the deadline for that year passes, awards for that period can no longer be granted.

Is InnerView a Certifying Organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)?

As of May 27, 2025, the PVSA program is on a temporary pause. InnerView offers its own set of national, state, and issue-based awards for students making a positive impact. For national-level recognition, our longtime partner, the United Nations Association – USA, offers three tiers of annual awards available to all InnerView high school and college volunteers.
