  • HOSA, which stands for Health Occupations Students of America, is an international student club for those interested in healthcare careers. It's a student-led organization that helps members develop leadership skills, build confidence, and strengthen their technical skills through competitive events, community service, and other activities. HOSA provides a platform to learn about health professions and the healthcare industry. 
     
    What HOSA offers
    • Leadership and skill development: Members can develop leadership qualities, teamwork, and communication skills through their involvement in the club and its activities.
    • Career exploration: The club introduces students to a wide range of healthcare professions and provides opportunities to learn about current health care issues.
    • Competitive events: HOSA hosts numerous competitions that test students' knowledge and skills in areas like medical terminology, pharmacology, CPR, and medical photography.
    • Community service: Many chapters organize community and school service projects, such as blood pressure drives or health awareness campaigns.
    • Networking: Members have the chance to build friendships, create social networks, and connect with health professionals and future employers.
    • Conferences and scholarships: Participation in local, state, and international conferences is possible, along with opportunities to apply for HOSA scholarships. 
     
    Who can join
    • Students currently enrolled in health science or biomedical science programs.
    • Any high school student with an interest in pursuing a career in a health profession.
