SUMMARY
Reflection
Although the project was initially difficult due to the swampy nature of the environment and the summer heat, my friends and I found a way to work together to achieve our goal of beautifying the land we knew so well. At the end of the day we ended up having 7 large heavy duty trash bags full of garbage and litter but most importantly we impacted our community by changing the very value of the land from a dirty road to a beautiful stretch of land that was now attractive to the land. We learned that no matter the challenge ahead, it is always better to do something bigger than yourself, to help your community even when you do not gain something from it.
Project Impact
Helping your hometown with cleaning up trash is a rewarding and impactful way to contribute to the community's well-being. Organizing or participating in cleanup events not only beautifies the area but also fosters a sense of pride and responsibility among residents. By removing litter from streets, parks, and public spaces, you can help protect local wildlife, reduce pollution, and create a safer, more pleasant environment for everyone. Engaging with neighbors in these efforts can strengthen community bonds and encourage a collective commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy hometown for future generations. Red Springs has struggled with pollution I'd say for awhile and it was nice for us all to get together to help contribute to a future where it thrives less.

Publicity
3.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion

Do the Project
5.00 hours leading an initiative | Compassion
Myself and a group of friends and family used multiple vehicles to transport ourselves along with the adequate materials to a predetermined destination that was known in the area for its litter and trash. We spent a good part of a day working up this road cleaning up every piece of trash we could get. When the whole road was cleaned up we ended up having completely filled 7 large heavy duty trash bags. We receive multiple compliments from people whole lived in the area.

Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Compassion
The outcome that the community received was a much needed makeover of the land that this road was on. In fact this road was know for it’s trash dumping problem where it was common to see fully filled trash bags dumped on the side of the road. I think anyone who lives near this road or that frequently drives on this road will appreciate the new look. My friends and I also appreciated the time we spent together to clean up this road, it formed a bond and a sense of friendship.
