SUMMARY
Reflection
After interacting with patients and their families suffering from Alzheimer’s, I have learned that exuding compassion to others when in need gives one the most pleasure and self-fulfillment. Contributing to future advancements in neurodegenerative disorder research with fundraising and research blog posts gives me a hope for a future of better understanding and awareness on Alzheimer’s disease.
Project Impact
Hosted high school volunteering sessions at North Carolina nursing homes for elderly with Alzheimer’s, raising over $2365 towards research on neurodegenerative diseases.

Beginning in September raised $500+ (as per my high school’s chapter) and $2365 in total towards AFA's national research and programs, specifically focusing on neuroimmune communication in Alzheimer's disease, early detection methods, and treatments for memory loss. My chapter (Green Level) was one of the top donors to the cause.
