    SUMMARY
    Reflection
Advocating and educating others on a topic I’m passionate about makes a huge difference not only to others, but to myself. I gained the confidence to speak out for what I believe in for my peers and educators.
    Project Impact
120 students and 10 faculty members were educated about the impact of Judaism and had the opportunity to learn about another culture.
    PROJECTS TASKS
    Page Week
10.00 hours participating in an awareness event | Curiosity
This week was amazing! We met with several state departments including the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Adult Corrections. Then, I developed a policy proposal that related to one of the departments. We also had the chance to meet Governor Cooper which was an excellent opportunity.
    Project Planning
4.00 hours leading an initiative | Spirituality
Had a telephone conference with producer Jenny Kaiser in order to discuss and plan our upcoming event. Decided what she was to speak about and what was going to be on the PowerPoint presentation. Informed her about the audience of the presentation. Since May is Jewish history month, we decided to teach the students of my school on the importance of Judaism to the community and how it has affected them. Then, Jenny would show a clip of her movie about the Holocaust. To close out, the students would participate in a Jewish trivia game.
    Do the Project
    1.00 hour leading a program | Spirituality
Together, Jenny and I led a Jewish history presentation explaining some significant Jewish figures in history and how they have helped in our lives today. Jenny made a movie about women in the Holocaust, and discussed how her movie is making an impact in the Triad. We finished the program with a trivia game where students guessed facts about Jewish figure from history. Students were engaged throughout the presentation and followed up with intriguing questions for Jenny. Through this program, students learned about the importance of Judaism and I educated them on my religion. This was very impactful for my community as it taught the students at my school something they had never learned before.
    Project Outcomes & Reflection
    1.00 hour leading a program | Spirituality
I think this event went very well. The students were actively engaged and they learned new information about Judaism and my culture. This service project made a huge impact on my community and it helped students learn about a group they didn’t know much about. The event itself went great. No technical difficulties and the slideshows were perfect. The activity went smoothly and I think the students had a great time!
