SUMMARY
Reflection
Looking back on my service project and my experience within the NC Governor's Page Program as a whole I am very grateful. My service project was very successful and reached all the expectations I had set. The goal of my service project was to use my passion and love for baking to bring my community together. Bringing the children from my local foster care system together was very special and rewarding. I was able to witness children and families from a group I have such a strong connection to, interact with and learn about something I love. The children enjoyed getting to decorate cookies and I enjoyed meeting everyone and getting to share my passion. The NC Governor's Page Program was an opportunity I will forever be grateful for and a memory I will never forget. I am thankful for this program and everything I have gained.
Project Impact
Overall my service project included 9 active/former foster youth and brought together 4 foster families and 11 total children.

Do the Project
2.00 hours leading an event | Connectedness
For my service project I hosted children from my local foster care system for a spring cookie decorating party. My service project was held at my local Rowan County 4-H office. I had a total of 9 active/former foster youth and brought together 4 foster families and 11 children. I brought background knowledge for my at-home baking business to teach proper frosting piping techniques the children in attendance. Attendees were allowed to decorate sugar cookies while connecting with other children who shared similar experiences and interests.
