    SUMMARY
    Reflection
Through this book drive, I was able to provide books for hundreds of underprivileged North Carolinians. Through four local non-profits (Haven House, Step-Up Program, Read and Feed, and Refugee Community Partnership), a variety of ages and ethnicities were able to receive the gift of education. Literacy has always been important to me because it is the gateway to further education and the basis of vocational work. It is a valuable tool that gives others the chance to be successful, and I value that.
    Project Impact
Promoted literacy and education by donating over 2,000 books to four local nonprofits serving a variety of underprivileged North Carolinians. These organizations include the Step-Up Program, Haven House, Read and Feed, and Refugee Community Partnership

Goal: To provide opportunities through education and literary resources to those in disadvantaged situations. Needed Equipment: Fliers and drop-off box. Cost: No cost; already own the supplies. Volunteers: Asking my communities to donate gently-used books to be distributed to local non-profits. Project Phases: 1. Reach out and partner with local non-profits and community groups. 2. Community Outreach; Send out fliers, emails, social media infographics, ect. to launch the book drive. 3. Set up a collection point. 4. Deliver books to the various non-profits and community groups 5. Help implement the education programs and centers
    Publicity
20.00 hours leading a collection drive | Connectedness
I contacted four local nonprofits serving under-resourced people groups in NC to find out what kind of books would be best for their beneficiaries. I handed out hundreds of flyers in my neighborhood and posted about my book drive on community Facebook groups and coordinated pick-up/drop-off with donors.
